Turo vs Hertz at BWI
Airport brands win on walk-up convenience. Gabby Rentals on Turo wins when you want clearer trip pricing and a Frederick base for the whole DMV trip.
- Hertz: pickup at/near BWI, counter process, brand rates
- Gabby/Turo: Frederick pickup, in-app trip flow, host fleet photos
- Best for: multi-day Maryland/DC itineraries
- Less ideal: you need a car in the BWI lot in 15 minutes
Price comparison mindset
Always compare the full Turo trip total (including protection options you choose) against the airport quote with taxes, under-25 fees, and toll products. The cheapest headline daily rate is rarely the checkout price.
When Hertz (or any counter) is fine
Same-day emergency rentals, one-way airport-to-airport needs, or corporate accounts that require specific vendors.
When Gabby Rentals is the better play
Festival weekends, beach gear (Tundra), family SUVs, and visitors staying in Frederick who will drive to DC/Baltimore multiple times.
